Chris Lewis is poised, aggressively paitient, and ready to take on anything. And he's passionate; not just about his family's TMS Racing, but about short track racing in general. He know's what he wants; to be a short track champion, several times over. And nothing will stop him, or his brother, who since 2001 have polshied and refined TMS Racing along with thier father.
When he’s not behind the wheel, you can usually find Chris working on his family’s racecar with his brother and father or behind his desk at IMAGE First. Chris started IMAGE First in 1999, at age 15, in an effort to help race teams promote themselves.
He made his first career start in October of 2000, in a Street Stock invitational race at Wyoming County International Speedway in Perry, New York, and he hasn’t looked back.
Two full seasons of racing (2002-2003) in the NASCAR Late Model Super Truck division at Hickory Motor Speedway garnered the youngster with plenty of experience, considering he didn’t get into a race car until age 16. In 2003, Chris made great strides in his racing as he and TMS Racing made 22 starts in the NASCAR Late Model Super Truck division. He raced to 21 top-fifteen finishes, 11 top-ten finishes, and a ninth place finish in the season ending point standings.
More determined than ever before, Chris and his family-owned and operated team headed into 2004 looking to put their race team up front. Mission accomplished. They raced across the Southeast at several different racetracks in 2004 and qualified in the top-five ten times in just 17 starts, including two outside poles. He ran up front the entire season, but failed to find victory lane despite leading several different races. Chris finished off the season with 15 top-fifteens, 10 top-tens, and 3 top-fives.
In 2006, 2007, and 2008, Chris and his family’s race team participated in a limited schedule of NASCAR Late Model Stock Car races. Again, in 2009, TMS Racing and Chris will run a limited schedule in the Late Model Stock Car division.
